How to Get There
Getting to Taiwan is easier than ever, with direct flights from major cities across Asia, North America, and beyond. Whether you're flying into the buzz of Taipei or starting your journey from the south, here’s how to land smoothly:
🛬 Main International Gateways
Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) – Just outside Taipei, this is Taiwan’s largest and busiest international airport. Most travelers will arrive here.
Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH) – Perfect if you’re heading to southern Taiwan.
Taichung International Airport (RMQ) – A smaller option that’s occasionally served by international flights.
🌍 Direct Flights From:
Asia: Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, and more.
North America: Direct flights from cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, and Toronto.
Europe: Fewer direct options, but major hubs like Amsterdam and Frankfurt offer seasonal or connecting flights via East Asia.
Oceania: Flights from Sydney and Brisbane connect through hubs like Hong Kong or Singapore.
✈️ Flight Booking Tips
Taiwan is a major hub for China Airlines and EVA Air, both offering excellent long-haul and regional services.
Budget airlines like Scoot, AirAsia, and Peach also fly to Taiwan from nearby Asian cities—perfect if you’re country-hopping.
For the best deals, book 1–2 months in advance if flying from Asia, and 2–3 months in advance from farther away.
