Power Adapter & Electricity

Taiwan's electrical system runs on 110V with a frequency of 60Hz, and the plug type is A (two flat prongs) or B (two flat prongs with a round grounding pin).

Here’s what you need to know:

1. Plug Type

  • Type A: Two flat parallel prongs.

  • Type B: Two flat parallel prongs and a round grounding pin.

If your devices have a different plug type (such as Type C or Type G), you will need a plug adapter to fit the Taiwanese outlets.

2. Voltage

  • Voltage: 110V

  • Frequency: 60Hz

Most devices like laptops and phones can handle this voltage (check your device for a voltage range, typically found on the power brick or charger). If your device only supports 220-240V, you’ll need a voltage converter in addition to a plug adapter.

3. Power Adapters and Converters

  • Plug Adapter: If you’re traveling from countries that use a different plug type (such as the UK or Europe), you’ll need a plug adapter to connect your devices to Taiwanese outlets.

  • Voltage Converter: If your device only works with 220V, you’ll need a voltage converter to safely use it in Taiwan. Double-check your device’s voltage compatibility to avoid damage!

4. Charging Your Devices

  • Taiwan’s electrical outlets are plentiful in hotels, airports, cafes, and other public places, so you should be able to find somewhere to charge your devices.

  • You can also purchase universal adapters at major stores or electronics retailers in Taiwan if you forget to bring one.
