Power Adapter & Electricity

Let’s keep your gadgets charged and your hair straighteners working, yeah?

⚡ Electricity Basics

  • Voltage: 220V

  • Frequency: 60Hz

  • Plug Types: Type A & B (the flat two-prong and the two-flat-with-a-ground—you’ll recognize them from the US and Japan)

Important: If you're coming from countries like the US, Canada, or Japan, your plug might fit just fine, but double-check your device’s voltage. Many modern gadgets (like phone chargers, laptops, and cameras) are dual voltage, which means you're good to go. Just look for this on the label:
“Input: 100-240V, 50/60Hz” → That means you're safe.

🔌 Do I Need a Power Adapter?

  • From the US or Japan? Not always! Your plug probably fits, but your device must support 220V.

  • From the UK, EU, Australia, or elsewhere?
👉 Yes, bring a universal adapter. The prongs won’t match the local outlets.

  • Bringing hair tools or appliances?
👉 Be extra careful. If they’re not dual voltage, they might fry. Use a proper voltage converter, or better yet—leave them and go au naturel.

🧳 What to Pack

  • ✅ Universal power adapter with USB ports

  • ✅ Power bank (very handy during blackouts or long travel days)

  • ✅ Charging cables (extra never hurts—especially in humid weather!)

  • ✅ Voltage converter if you’re bringing single-voltage devices from home

⚡ Bonus Tip

Power outages, aka brownouts, happen occasionally—especially in more remote provinces or during typhoon season. A small flashlight or headlamp and a charged-up power bank can be lifesavers.
