Pat-Pat’s San Juan: Your New Spot for Must-Try Filipino Food (Yes, the Kansi is Worth It)
If you’ve ever had Pat-Pat’s Kansi in Makati, get ready to level up. Their newest branch in San Juan is here—and it’s a whole vibe.
We dropped by to check it out, and spoiler alert: it’s our new go-to for kansi and sisig cravings in the metro. Whether you’re a local foodie or a first-time visitor in the Philippines, this is the kind of Filipino comfort food that hits different.
First Impressions: Big Upgrade in the Interiors
Let’s start with the ambiance. Compared to their simple Makati setup, Pat-Pat’s Kansi San Juan branch feels like an upgrade. Think modern Filipino dining—clean, cozy, and actually Instagrammable (but not in a trying-too-hard way).
They’ve got decent parking, too, which is gold in San Juan. But be warned: it gets packed on Friday and Saturday nights, so consider calling ahead for a reservation. Yes, they do accept them!
What We Ordered (and What You Should Too)
We came for the kansi, and yep—it delivered. That signature broth is still rich, tangy, and soul-warming. We tried the regular kansi laman and the deboned version. Just a heads up: the meat isn’t super tender—it’s got a bite to it, and that’s how it’s meant to be. If you’re expecting melt-in-your-mouth, this isn’t it. But if you’re in it for that bold, beefy flavor? You’ll love it.

We also got their inasal—both paa and petso. It’s not the juiciest we’ve had, but honestly, it’s okay. We were there for the kansi and sisig, and they absolutely carried the meal.
The sisig? Obsessed. Crunchy, savory, and perfectly sizzling.
Bonus points: they’ve expanded their menu compared to the Makati branch. More choices, including vegetables! We tried the tortang talong. Not life-changing, but nice to have on the table.
Prices + Service
Super reasonable prices for what you’re getting. Big portions, great flavors, and honestly? Service was 10/10. The staff were quick, friendly, and on top of everything. We noticed this branch is actually a franchise, and rumor has it they’re opening another one soon in Ortigas.
Insider Tips
Call ahead for a reservation if you're coming in the evening—especially on weekends.
They have parking slots, but it fills up fast.
Try the kansi deboned if you’re not into gnawing on bones.
Ask the staff for menu recommendations—they know their stuff.
Would we go back? Absolutely. Kansi is one of our favorite Filipino dishes, and Pat-Pat’s San Juan is one of the best places to try it—especially if you’re a visitor looking to taste something local and soulful.
It’s comfort food with character. And for that reason alone, this branch is getting added to our must-try Filipino food list.
