Build, Create, and Code in Paradise: Inside Bali’s Apple Developer Academy

When most people picture Bali, they think of surfboards, sunsets, and smoothie bowls. But tucked between the rice fields and beaches is something you probably wouldn’t expect — one of Apple's rare Developer Academies, and it's quietly shaping the next generation of tech innovators.

Welcome to the Apple Developer Academy @ BINUS Bali — where code meets creativity and big ideas find their first spark.

What Exactly is the Apple Developer Academy?

The Academy isn’t your typical tech school. It’s a global initiative by Apple aimed at unlocking talent in coding, design, and business — especially in places bubbling with potential.
Here, students (who proudly call themselves "learners") dive into the world of app development, not just learning how to code, but how to think like true creators and entrepreneurs.

Forget long lectures and endless exams. Instead, it's all about hands-on projects, real-world teamwork, and creative problem-solving — just like it happens in real startups.

And the best part? You don’t need a computer science degree or fancy tech background. If you’ve got passion, curiosity, and the drive to learn, you’re already a strong candidate.

Why Set Up in Bali?

It might seem unusual to open a cutting-edge tech academy on a relaxed island, but Bali is far more than beaches and yoga retreats. The island is buzzing with startups, creative studios, digital nomads, and entrepreneurs. Bali’s mix of innovation, energy, and international influence makes it the perfect playground for young tech builders to experiment, collaborate, and launch ideas.

And honestly — brainstorming your next app over a Balinese coffee before hitting the beach? Hard to beat.

What You’ll Learn

At the Academy, the learning revolves around three core pillars:

  • Coding: Get hands-on with Swift programming and full app development.

  • Business: Learn how to turn a rough idea into a viable startup or product.

  • Design: Craft user-centered experiences that look and feel great.

By the end of the program, learners leave not just with technical skills — but with the mindset and confidence to start their own projects, companies, or careers in tech.
